What we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated: June 4, 2026

Two Broke Dudez Moving Co. ("we," "us") runs the website at twobrokedudez.ca and the crew dashboard at crew.twobrokedudez.ca. This page explains what we do with your information when you apply to join our crew or work with us. We've kept it short and plain.

What we collect when you apply

When you fill out the apply form, you give us:

  • Your first and last name, email address, and phone number.
  • Photos of the front and back of a government-issued ID.
  • A headshot photo of you.
  • Your age, years of moving experience, education level, availability (full-time/part-time), comfort driving a moving truck, and any notes you choose to share about lifting or physical work.
  • A password for your dashboard login. We never see the password in readable form — it's stored securely by Firebase Authentication.

If we hire you and you start working, we also keep:

  • Your shift times and the rough location of where you clock in and out (so we can confirm hours and pay you correctly).
  • Messages and notes you exchange with the rest of the crew through the dashboard chat.
  • Your job assignments and history with us.

Why we collect it

We use this information to:

  • Decide whether to bring you onto the crew.
  • Pay you correctly for the hours you work.
  • Coordinate jobs, schedules, and communication between you and the rest of the crew.
  • Verify identity if something comes up.

We don't sell your information. We don't share it with marketers or data brokers. We don't use it for anything outside of hiring and running the moving company.

Where it's stored

Your information is stored on Google's Firebase platform, which Google operates from their data centres. Firebase is a widely used service with strong built-in security. Your data is protected behind login and access controls so only people who need to see specific information can see it.

Third-party services

In addition to Firebase (Google), we use the following services to run the app:

  • Expo Push Notifications (operated by Expo) — delivers push notifications to your phone. We send Expo a device token (not your name or personal info) so it can route the notification to your device.
  • Resend — sends email notifications (e.g., when you're approved or a job is cancelled). We share your email address with Resend only for delivering these messages.

Neither of these services receives your ID photos, questionnaire answers, or other personal data beyond what's needed to deliver the notification.

Who can see your information

  • Chris (the owner / admin) can see your full profile — including your ID photos and questionnaire answers — to review your application and run the team.
  • Other approved crew members can see your first name, last initial, and headshot photo (so the crew knows who they're working with). They can't see your ID photos, your phone number, your email, your password, your age, or your questionnaire answers.
  • No one outside Two Broke Dudez sees your information unless we're legally required to share it (for example, by a court order or tax authority).

How long we keep it

  • If we don't hire you, we keep your application on file for up to 12 months in case something opens up. After that we delete it.
  • If we hire you, we keep your information for as long as you work with us, plus up to 7 years after you leave — so we can comply with Canadian tax and employment record-keeping rules.
  • You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see the next section.

Your rights — access, correction, deletion

  • See or update your info: log in to the app or crew.twobrokedudez.ca and open the Profile tab.
  • Delete your account: in the app's Profile screen or the web dashboard's Profile tab, tap "Delete my account." This permanently removes your login, your photos, your profile, and your job assignments. It cannot be undone.
  • Ask us directly: call 289-927-0525 and we'll handle anything the dashboard can't.

Cookies and tracking

The crew dashboard uses a small amount of standard browser storage to keep you logged in. It doesn't track you for advertising, and we don't run third-party analytics on the dashboard pages.

Updates to this policy

If anything material changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes that affect crew members, we'll let you know by email or in the dashboard.
